Why did the George-HW-Bush appointee David Souter wait for Obama to take office before retiring?

Because when he was under bush he wasn't yet ready to retire.. what's the problem? Now he's ready to retire, he decided to announce it now that he will be retiring at the end of this court term.. god you right wingers always try to pick a bone at any liberal without thinking of the most simple explanation.
